Community Relations
As a member of the community for more than 60 years, Hotel Bel-Air has a great appreciation for the charitable organizations that contribute to making the world a better place. Each year we make a commitment to participate in as many causes as we can and we welcome the opportunity to learn about the organizations and events that are making a difference in Los Angeles.

Hotel Bel-Air approves a limited number of the many donation request applications received. Please help us serve you and our community better by submitting your applications according to the following required guidelines:

  1. Download and complete our DONATION APPLICATION.
  2. Attach a copy of your organization’s federally issued letter certifying non-profit 501(c)3 status.
  3. The charity event is within the community of Los Angeles.
  4. Submit the application at least 30 days prior to the date the donation is needed.
  5. Submit your application by mail or fax to 310.909.1611.

Which organizations are eligible to receive donations? Hotel Bel-Air accepts donation request applications from non-profit organizations with 501(c)3 status within the county of Los Angeles. The event, fundraiser, or program must serve the local community. Hotel Bel-Air cannot make donations to political or religious organizations unless the donation will be used for a local, non-secular, community service-related event or program.

The hotel donated to my event last year, will you donate again? Because of the many worthwhile charities within our community, we are unable to donate to your event if you have received a donation from Hotel Bel-Air within two years.

What can the hotel donate? Hotel Bel-Air donates hotel stays, packages and restaurant meals to silent auctions. We do not make cash donations or sponsor events.

What is acceptable documentation of my organization’s non-profit status? In order to accept and review your donation request application, it must be accompanied by a copy of the federally issued statement of your organization’s 501(c)3 status and your 9-digit Federal Identification Number. This letter is obtained from the Federal Treasury and is different from a tax-exempt form.

How will I know if my donation request application has been approved? Correctly completed donation application requests are reviewed in a timely manner. If your application is approved for a donation, you will generally receive notice at least 2–3 weeks prior to your event, fundraiser or program date. Due to the number of applications received, phone calls in reference to donations under review cannot be returned.

How can we promote Hotel Bel-Air at our event? We ask that a complimentary ad or special promotional consideration in your event program be offered in return for support of your silent auction.
